Pixellation
Sometimes, your digital TV picture turns into blocks and makes alien sounds like “SQUEEK, IPP, Blippp, Blopp, CRrreeek.” – Drives you mad doesn’t it?
The common name for this is Pixelating or Pixelation. This can happen for a variety of reasons.
The most common reasons are:
- Having an antenna that is too old to be compatible with Digital Television
- Bad or Rusted Connections
- Bad Cabling
- Water, Storm, Cockatoo Damage to your antenna or cable (Yes, black cable is yummy apparently!!)
- Faulty TV, Set Top Box
- Television Black-Spots – You live in the mountains, and chances are there is a gum tree or a hill nearby
- Some kind of odd filter, booster or other gizmo that needs updating to work on Digital TV
These problems require specialist equipment to test and diagnose. The days of standing on the roof and shouting to your wife “Is that better or worse” as you wave the antenna around are GONE!!!
Sorry to bring the bad news.
